A lawyer for Johns Hopkins Hospital was in the courtroom one day trying to block publication of this book, or failing that, to make sure that it is not referenced in any way during the malpractice trial that resulted from my wife’s treatment at Hopkins. As he was collecting his papers after making a motion, the lawyer turned to a colleague and said that he thought that Collateral Damage is pretty well written.
When someone said that to Louisa May Alcott about Little Women, she said “It’s simple and it’s true and we lived it.”
This book is an absolutely true story, and we certainly lived it.
